Keenan’s Georgia Toast

Tomorrow is 10.10.10.  Celebrate with some yummy french toast.  This is seriously the best breakfast I’ve ever had in my life.  You’ll like it.  It’s not too hard to make, takes maybe half an hour- costs maybe $10 to make if you already have a bottle of Beam sitting around.  Make it.  Trust me.  Here’s the recipe for 2 people.

First the Peaches…

3 peaches
2 shots whiskey
1/4 c brown sugar
1/4 stick butter
1 t cinnamon
1/2 t nutmeg
dash salt

Slice peaches and saute in butter.  Add brown sugar, salt, cinnamon and nutmeg and stir over heat for 10 minutes or until syrup forms and peaches are soft.  Add whiskey and catch it on fire, when flames go out, let the peaches rest over low heat while you make the toast.

Then the Toast.

4 slices brioche
3 eggs
1 t cinnamon
1/2 t nutmeg
dash whipping cream
salt
1 T butter

In a medium mixing bowl whisk together eggs, cinnamon, nutmeg, whipping cream and salt.  Dip bread into the egg mixture.  Smoosh the bread around a little until all the egg mixture is soaked up.

Over medium-low heat melt butter in a 10 inch non-stick saute pan.  Place 2 slices of bread at a time into the pan and cook until golden brown.  Maybe 2-3 minutes on each side.  Top with peaches.  You can also drizzle maple syrup, Aunt Jemima or creme fraiche on top if you want to.  Bon appetit!

Here’s some music for you to groove to while you work.  Thanks Krazy Kenny.
